As part of the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of the declaration of the “Parque Natural del Alto Tajo”, a Technical-Scientific Conference was held on the last Monday, July 27th, 2020, at the Corduente Interpretation Center.
The celebrations, which began on Saturday, July 25th with an nstitutional event by the Councilor for Sustainable Development of the Junta de Castilla La Mancha, José Luis Escudero, aim to highlight all relevant activities, from different areas, carried out in the Natural Park during its 20 years of existence.
The activities on the 27th, organized and coordinated by José Antonio Lozano Díaz (Director of the Park), were attended by Fernando Marchán (Deputy Minister for Sustainable Development), who made the presentation of the day, and the Mayor of Corduente, who hosted the event. The participants included a representation of the Forest Guard that develops its work in the Natural Park, as well as several scientists and specialists who have been carrying out their research in this protected area.

Cristina Martín Moreno, representing the “Universidad Complutense de Madrid”, explained the different research tasks that UCM has developed in the mining area of this Park, from 2007 to the present, and which were the basis for the application and approval of the LIFE RIBERMINE Project. Most of her presentation focused on explaining the objectives and characteristics of this project. The participants showed great interest and took note of the website and social media addresses of the project, to keep themselves informed.
After the presentations, a commemorative video concerning the 20th anniversary of the Declaration of the “Parque Natural del Alto Tajo”, was viewed. Romualdo Pinilla, Chairman of the Board of Directors of this Natural Park, was responsible for closing the acts.
