In Guadalajara, the “1st International Forum of the Alliance for the Services of the Ecosystems of Castilla-La Mancha” was held on October 26th and 27th. The meeting promoted by the Ministry of Sustainable Development and organized by the General Directorate of Natural Environment and Biodiversity, has brought together representatives of companies and financial institutions, public administrations and civil society to share and create opportunities for collaboration with which to promote best practices for the enhancement of biodiversity and other ecosystem services. The Forum has been very well received in its first edition.
The second day of the Forum took place in a field visit to the main spots of the Alto Tajo Natural Park, where examples of ecosystem services that we obtain from nature were shown.
In the end of the field day, the restoration of the Santa Engracia mine in Peñalén was visited, where the Director of the Alto Tajo Natural Park, Ángel Vela, explained the LIFE RIBERMINE project as an example of innovative mining restoration and the consequent recovery of ecosystem services associated with water quality.
