The Lousal Ciência Viva Science Center- Mine of Science, celebrated the European Heritage Days (http://w3.patrimoniocultural.pt/jep2022/digital/), on the 25th of September, through the dissemination of the Life Ribermine project (https://lousal.cienciaviva.pt/ciencia-viva/jornadas-europeias-do-patrimonio-2022/).

The event began with a lecture, where the participants got to know, through the speaker Mónica Martins, the fundamentals of the LIFE RIBERMINE Project and its objectives. These objectives relate to the application and implementation of corrective measures for the Mining Acid Drainage (DAM) in order to improve the quality of the water and soil in the Lousal region, caused by the mining of massive sulphides.

Afterwards, the group got to know the intervention area in situ, as well as the different phases of the work and the results after the first year of intervention.
