The LIFE RIBERMINE project participated with a communication in the XII International Congress of Mining and Historical Metallurgy of Southwestern Europe, which took place from September 21 to 24, 2023 in Sabero (León), Spain. Each call for this Congress brings together numerous experts from different parts of Spain and other parts of the European Community (Portugal, France, etc.), as well as researchers from Latin American countries.
The communication was presented by Javier de la Villa, project coordinator, with the title “The ecological and landscape restoration of LIFE RIBERMINE (Peñalén, Guadalajara). Contribution to the valorization of geological and mining heritage”, where a brief presentation was made of the applied techniques and how ecological restoration can in turn preserve mining testimonies such as mine fronts, remaining integrated into the landscape without losing their cultural value.
