We report once again on a student visit to the LIFE RIBERMINE project. In this case, students of the subject “Geomorphological Restoration”, of the “Master in Environmental Geology” (https://www.ucm.es/geologia-ambiental/), came to Peñalén to complete their training and see first-hand different restoration techniques.

The excursion took place on 3 March 2023 and was guided by José Francisco Martín Duque (UCM). A total of 20 students of different nationalities took part in the visit, including those from several Latin American countries (Colombia, Peru and Argentina), among others.
The students showed great interest in the different techniques adopted and the results being obtained in the current monitoring phase within the framework of the LIFE RIBERMINE project. Precisely, during the visit, field work was carried out to study the evolution of the restored areas with a focus on abiotic aspects (data collection with differential GPS and measurement in the installed dams) and the procedure was explained to the students.
