Once again, the LIFE RIBERMINE project has been the setting for the training of students of the Master’s Degree in Ecosystem Restoration (MURE – https://masterrestecos.web.uah.es/).
On 21 January 2025, a total of 40 students of the subjects ‘Erosion Processes and Soil Restoration’ and ‘Geomorphological Processes and Restoration of the Physical Environment’ of the MURE visited the areas restored during the development of the LIFE RIBERMINE project in Peñalén, Guadalajara. During the visit, José Francisco Martín Duque and Cristina Martín Moreno explained the different geomorphological restoration and soil recovery techniques carried out in the Santa Engracia mine.
Despite the cold and the incessant rain, the students, who came from different countries (Spain, Poland, Peru, Ecuador, French Guiana, Mexico…) were able to see in situ the evolution and recovery of the restored waste dumps and old exploitation front, showing great interest and admiration for the achievements.
